In this dawning era of the Aquarian Age: Reclaiming Our Power, Our Bodies, and Our Healing
There’s a question rising collectively right now:
Are we finally stepping into the Aquarian Age—an era where we stop handing our power away and remember that everything we need already lives within us?
If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve likely seen the deeply unsettling news about the email exchange between Deepak Chopra—one of the most influential spiritual teachers of our generation—and Jeffrey Epstein, whose crimes need no introduction. For many, this revelation has stirred grief, anger, and disillusionment.
But it’s also illuminating something important:
The light is exposing what was once kept in the shadows.
And we did not incarnate during this time by accident.
When Our Gurus Become Human
As an ex–Bikram yoga teacher, I learned early that our “gurus” are just human beings—fallible, flawed, and capable of harm. I lost count of the number of times I was called fat as a yoga teacher, hit on by male peers, or watched inappropriate behavior brushed aside in the name of spirituality.
During Bikram teacher training, we practiced in extreme heat twice a day, often stayed up until 1 or 2 a.m. listening to lectures, and pushed our bodies far beyond healthy limits. Many trainees were depleted, undernourished, or struggling silently. It was the perfect stage for predatory behaviour.
My friend once told me, “Two things can be true at the same time.”
I still love the practice of yoga. It helped me. It opened my life.
And also—none of that excuses abuse, exploitation, or predatory behavior.
This isn’t just about one man. In the yoga world alone, we’ve watched John Friend, Rodney Yee, Osho, Bikram, and others fall from their pedestals.
Now, with Epstein’s victims pushing for the release of the full list, more truth is surfacing. Many women are grieving, remembering, purging, and awakening all at once. We are unpacking generations of trauma—being victimized, trafficked, assaulted, judged, shamed, and silenced.
This is not small work.
This is soul work.
This is collective ancestral healing.
And the only way we move through this is together—lifting each other up, not tearing each other down.
The old paradigm of women competing, shaming, or undermining each other is dying.
As we close out 2025, anything built on that old energy will crumble.
It’s time to step into something new.
Decolonizing the Wellness Space
After teaching yoga for two decades—especially during its pre-COVID peak—I can say honestly: it wasn’t the supportive environment many imagined. Competition was rampant. Teachers weaponized their bodies against each other. Women were pressured to be thin, disciplined, and perfect. Eating disorders were normalized. Sexual misconduct was dismissed.
And underneath it all was patriarchy—shaping the wellness space to tell women how they should look, behave, and take up space.
Now capitalism is having its turn. Wellness has become a marketplace of endless supplements, programs, gadgets, and “fixes.” People are overwhelmed, confused, and disconnected from themselves.
If we are going to truly heal, we have to return to the roots:
Your body is sacred.
Your intuition is wise.
Creator made you unique.
No one knows your body better than you.
This is what decolonizing wellness looks like—placing authority back where it belongs: within you.
Coming Back Into Your Own Power
The most profound thing you can do right now is reconnect with your own body’s wisdom.
If you’re like me, years on the diet train taught you to ignore your hunger, your signals, your needs. To override your body’s voice.
Healing means learning to listen again.
Here’s where it starts:
Get into Nature—often.
Bare feet on the Earth.
Stillness.
Presence.
Creator speaks through the natural world. Answers come when you’re quiet enough to hear them.
And when you can’t get outside? Ground from within.
I often choose a crystal or stone I'm drawn to, hold it, breathe with it, and let it anchor me. Crystals come from the Earth—they help us settle, soften, and return to center.
Truth Is Coming. Grounding Will Be Essential.
More will come to light.
More systems will be revealed for what they are.
More of what’s been hidden will rise to the surface.
Some of it may shake your foundation.
This is why grounding isn’t optional—it’s daily medicine.
Your energy, your intuition, your sovereignty, and your body are your anchor points.
And the truth?
We are ready for this.
We came here for this time.
We are remembering who we are.
Together, we rise.
